THANKSGIVING

THE SEED

“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonian 5:18

Thanksgiving is an act of showing gratitude to the Lord in worship.God derives pleasure in our attitude of gratitude. Our Father in heaven loves us so much that He doesn’t wait for our thanksgiving before he releases his goodness upon us. His Love towards us is worthy of thanks. He made us after his likeness, not after the likeness of every other creature, this is worthy to be thankful for. He made us king over every other creature.  He named us men and gods. He protects and guides us always and He keeps us safe and healthy as living souls, He is the hope for the sick, and we should thank him for the process he went through before he could give us salvation, for His mercies and grace that we receive daily. We should give thanks to God for some of our request that has not been granted: because it is for a purpose and that is why the word of God in the above Bible text encourages us to give thanks in all circumstances meaning that God deserves our praise in devotion; our sacrifice in his temple, in our offering in the secret and open places and to glorify him in our conveniences and inconveniences. This is because he is in all our inconveniences, for his glory to be manifested. Giving thanks to God is likened to a meal. Though God doesn’t eat earthly foods, thanksgiving is His meal. That is why the Psalmist said in Psalm 86 “… I will glorify your name forever”
