The Book Of Life

THE SEED
“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” Revelation 20:12

Basically, the Book of Life records who will receive God’s gift of eternal life. Those whose names are written in the Book of Life are those who receive Jesus’s ark of salvation. To have one’s name written in this book means that one is considered righteous before God and will inherit eternal life provided he or she remains faithful to the end (Revelation 3:5). To have one’s name blotted out of this book signifies a fate of eternal death (Revelation20:15). The opening scripture tell us how Jesus will use the Book of Life to separate the goats from the sheep; and, Jesus will evaluate the work the sheep have done and He will reward us accordingly. (1 Corinthians 3:10-15) When we take into consideration what will transpire in the judgement it certainly is not unreasonable to believe God has recorded, in heaven, the names of those who have become born again and He has also recorded what they have done as disciples. If you are spiritually thirsty, and if you hope to be in the Book of Life, God asks you simply to put your faith and trust in Jesus and to receive the gift of life – the gift of grace – that he has for you today.
