THE SEED
”Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.“ John 17:17 NIV
Have you ever received a beautifully wrapped gift, only to find something extraordinary inside? In the same way, sanctification is a precious gift from God. Sanctification means being set apart for a holy purpose. God, through His grace, is continually at work in our lives to make us more like Jesus. The opening Bible verse gives an insight into how Jesus gave this gift to His disciples in His prayer to God. Jesus asked that the Father should sanctify them in His truth. Jesus, after receiving Him into our lives as our saviour, desires that we become set apart for God’s purpose just as He was set apart for God’s purpose. It’s through being set apart for God’s purpose that we can enjoy a constant relationship with the Holy Trinity. The importance of this gift to our Christian journey made Jesus pray that prayer for us. The sanctification of God comes into our life through the truth which is the Word of God. So, Beloved it is of paramount importance to be deep in the word of God to hold on to the precious gift of Sanctification in our lives. If you have not received this gift, you need to pray to God to lay claim on the prayer of Jesus Christ to manifest in your life, so that you can enjoy your relationship with the Holy Trinity.
