THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER
THE SEED
“David said to the Philistine, ‘You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.’” 1 Samuel 17:45

Prayer is the foundation of a believer’s life and the lifeblood of the church. It empowers spiritual strength and aligns believers with God’s will. Without prayer, the church becomes spiritually weak, unable to stand against the forces of darkness. The story of David and Goliath illustrates the power of spiritual warfare. David’s victory was not by physical might but by his reliance on God. Similarly, believers must recognize that their battles are not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12). Prayer activates the spiritual armour of God and equips believers to overcome challenges and resist the enemy. Persistent and fervent prayer not only brings personal victory but also strengthens the collective body of Christ. Through prayer, believers receive divine guidance, protection, and the ability to persevere in faith.

Láìsí àdúrà, ìjọ náà di aláìlera nípa tẹ̀mí, kò ní lè dúró lódò àwọn agbára òkunkun. Ìtàn Dáfídì àti Gólíàẹ̀ fi agbára ogun ìmúra ẹ̀mí hàn gbangba. Ìṣẹ́gun Dáfídì kì í ṣe agbára ti ara bí kò ṣe nípa ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé rẹ̀ sí Ọlọ́run. Lọ́nà kan náà, àwọn onígbàgbọ́ gbọ́dọ̀ mọ̀ pé ogun wọn kì í ṣe si ẹran ara àti ẹ̀jẹ̀ ṣùgbọ́n sí àwọn agbára àti àṣẹ ọkunkun tí ẹ̀mí (Efesu 6:12). Adura mu ihamọra ogun Ọlọrun ṣiṣẹ, ó sì ń pese awọn onigbagbọ lágbára lati bori ìṣòro àti láti dènà ọtá. Àdúrà tí ó tẹpẹlẹ mọ́ àti onítara kì í ṣe pé ó mú ìṣẹ́gun ti ara ẹni wá nìkan ṣùgbọ́n ó tún ń fún ijọ Kristi lókun. Nípasẹ̀ àdúrà, àwọn onígbàgbọ́ gba ìtọ́sọ́nà àtọ̀runwá, ààbò, àti agbára láti faradà nínú ìgbàgbọ́.
