THE SEED
”Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 ESV
It is amazing that during December, the days grow shorter, and darkness seems to take over most of the days. Yet, this darkness serves as a powerful setting for the message of Christmas which is the arrival of the Light of the world. Jesus declared, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life” All that is required of us is our fellowship with the light, to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and our life will be lighted with His presence always.
For those who can decorate their homes with lights and candles, those who are less privileged to do so or those who don’t for no reason, one thing that we should all remember is that these symbols do not only brighten our surroundings but also they remind us and echo the true Light that has come into the world. Jesus’ birth shattered the darkness of sin and offered us the light of life. How would you reflect this light so that more people can be brought to the light of Christ? We need to let our lives shine with the radiance of Christ’s love to bring hope to those around us.
BIBLE READINGS: Revelation 21:22-25
PRAYER: Lord, help me to reflect your light to radiate your love for more people to come to your light in Jesus’ name. Amen
