The Moments That Sustain Us

THE SEED
The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. Psalm 145:20

What do you do when your life falls apart? We all experience challenging conditions, some of which are very painful and protracted. Without a clear goal in mind, joy can wane and hope may seem unreachable. King David went through a lot of trials, including the loss of a best friend and a child. Along with Saul’s murderous intentions, he later had to face a rebellion led by his own son. But even at his darkest hours, David found comfort and hope in God. What enabled David to have faith in the Lord? because he was skilled at meditation. That is, in order to get to know the Lord better and obey Him, he focused his mind and spirit on His nature, ways, and will. What do you consider throughout the day? Do you schedule time only to think about Jesus? Read a few psalms and take note of how the author often returns to the omnipotent God to serve as a reminder to yourself to focus on the Creator. In the midst of chaos, David found serenity by keeping his eyes fixed on God. It would be wise for us to imitate his behaviour. Focus on the Father and consider His Word when you are going through a challenging moment.

PRAYER
Oh Lord, you are my only hope, no matter the circumstances, give me the power to focus on you and let me have comfort in you oh Lord, Amen.
