THE POWER OF ENDURANCE

THE SEED
”but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, riots, labours, sleepless nights, hunger;“ 2 Corinthians 6:4-5 ESV

Now that we are living in an age of instant satisfaction, a time when we demand immediate results on things that took people of the past generation ago a lifetime to achieve, endurance as a virtue is being seen as slack in character. But this must not be so among Christians because it is the power of endurance that can make us to stand the test of time. We can not change the tenets of God but rather abide by them with the help of the Holy Spirit. Among the Christians today, we witness the demand for overnight success, growth, solutions, and spiritual maturity. And if these are not met, we see brethren quit in search of alternatives. We quit our jobs, education, relationships, ministries as well as even giving up on God: all because we lack endurance. Well, whether we accept it or not, Endurance is the key to divine success, it is the strength that keeps us going even when life gets tough. Just as a runner perseveres through a race, we must endure through the challenges of life.

BIBLE READINGS:  2 Corinthians 11:24-33

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help me not to lose the power of endurance so that I can lawfully claim all your goodness for me in endurance. Amen
