THE PROCESSION OF GOD

THE SEED

“Your procession, God, has come into view, the procession of my God and King. “Psalm 68:24

It was spectacular to watch the Coronation Procession of King Charles III (UK) on 6 th May 2023. Over 6000 armed forces personnel marched in the rain from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace. There were 8 processional groups representing different parts of the armed forces, and they started the procession precisely at 12am till 07:19, with precision. When I considered the procession described by David in Psalm 68: 24 – 26, it signifies the end of exodus, a jubilation of great triumph over their enemies and happiness to see the Ark of the covenant into Jerusalem- its resting place. This parade was all about God and no one else, i.e., jubilation, the glory, the funfare, and honour were for God; hence David declaring, your procession, God, has come into view, the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary. We have been encouraged not to neglect meeting together but to fellowship together according to Hebrew 10: 25. As the Lord tarries, there are benefits of being in the presence of God with others. One of these is enjoying the splendour in the procession. King David saw the goodness of God in the procession as he wrote of the order of procession, the singer, the instrumentalists, and the assembly. This composition encouraged us to bless God within the congregation, join in the procession, be precise and timely while you are honouring God. If you are joining in worshiping from your television, social media, radio etc it is a different feeling and incomparable to the joy in your heart when you worship with other people. If you have the opportunity, be eager to visit the sanctuary to worship properly. Prophet Isaiah saw the vision of the throne and the Temple Isaiah 6:1- 3, you can only see these when you are in the temple.

BIBLE READING: 1 Chronicles 13: 1-8

PRAYER: Dear God, may my life praise you as we march toward Zion.
