Digging for gold is analogous to seeking God’s truth. If we come across a little flake, we continue to scrape and shovel until we locate another, which could be a piece of food no larger than an apple seed. We continue looking for that tiny piece until we come upon a marble-sized chunk, and so on. We keep digging for more fresh God-experiences because they are so exciting. Just consider the benefits of this endeavour. First of all, pursuing the truth concerning the Lord naturally leads to a closer connection with Him. We gain confidence and the knowledge that He is constantly watching over and directing us when we live our lives with these discoveries. Another advantage of learning about God is the growth of spiritual discernment. This is the ability to tell the difference between fact and fiction, even when the latter is offered as evidence. Being equipped with this kind of godly insight allows us to serve the kingdom more effectively, particularly when it comes to discipline others. There are constantly fresh and intriguing revelations about our boundless God for us to discover. So make it a priority to establish His truth as the cornerstone of your life. You will learn more about Him and find new ways to serve Him by doing this.

Oh Lord, bestow your truthfulness in me and give me the grace to walk with you in a perfect and honest heart, Amen.
