THE TOWER OF BABEL
THE SEED
“And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” — Genesis 11:4 (KJV)
The Tower of Babel was more than just an architectural project—it was the physical manifestation of human pride and rebellion. Instead of following God’s instruction to spread out and fill the earth (Genesis 9:1), the people gathered to build a monument to themselves. They wanted to make a name, not for God, but for themselves. And God intervened, confusing their language and scattering them, because their unity was rooted in defiance, not devotion. This story is a sobering reminder of what happens when our plans are rooted in pride instead of purpose. The desire to “reach heaven” without God is still present today in many subtle ways—when we chase success without seeking His will, when we value fame over faithfulness, or when we seek control instead of surrender. The Babel generation was united, but they were united against God. Unity in rebellion is dangerous. God is not opposed to progress, but He is opposed to pride. Every ambition, plan, or pursuit must begin with Him and be built on obedience to His Word. Choose to build what God is blessing, rather than asking Him to bless what you’re building. Let every dream, project, and vision begin with prayer and be sustained by His purpose.

Ilé-Ísó Bábélì kì í ṣe iṣẹ́ ọnà kan lásán—ó jẹ́ ìgbéraga àti ìṣọ̀tẹ̀ ẹ̀dá ènìyàn. Dípò kí wọ́n tẹ̀ lé ìtọ́ni Ọlọ́run pé kí wọ́n tàn kálẹ̀ kí wọ́n sì kún ilẹ̀ ayé (Jẹ́nẹ́sísì 9:1 ), àwọn èèyàn náà pé jọ láti kọ́ ohun ìrántí kan fún ara wọn. Àwọn ìran Bábélì wà ní ìṣọ̀kan, ṣùgbọ́n wọ́n ṣọ̀kan lòdì sí Ọlọ́run. Isokan ninu iṣọtẹ jẹ ewu. Olorun ko lodi si ilọsiwaju, ṣugbọn o lodi si igberaga. Gbogbo okanjuwa, eto, tabi ilepa gbọdọ bẹrẹ pẹlu Rẹ ati ki o wa ni itumọ ti lori igboran si Ọrọ Rẹ. Yan lati kọ ohun ti Ọlọrun nbukun, dipo ki o beere lọwọ Rẹ lati bukun ohun ti o n kọ. Jẹ ki gbogbo ala, iṣẹ akanṣe, ati iran bẹrẹ pẹlu adura ati ki o jẹ idaduro nipasẹ ipinnu Rẹ.
