TOTAL OBEDIENCE TO GOD

TOTAL OBEDIENCE TO GOD

THE SEED
“So Samuel said: ‘Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams.’ 1 Samuel 15:22 (NKJV)Obedience means willingly submitting to the commands of one in authority. Obedience to God involves honouring His authority and acting
according to His Word. Jesus said, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me.” Therefore, our love for God must be evident in our obedience. Partial obedience is disobedience.
King Saul is an example; he was instructed to completely destroy the Amalekites, but he spared King Agag and kept some of the best livestock. Though he intended to use them for sacrifice, God was not pleased because Saul did not follow His instructions fully. Another example is Adam and Eve. God commanded them not to eat from a specific tree, but they disobeyed and were driven out of the Garden of Eden. God desires full obedience from His children, not partial compliance. Total obedience shows reverence for Him and His Word.
