TWO ARE BETTER THAN ONE

THE SEED

“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.” Ecclesiastes. 4: 9(KJV).

The opening Bible verse is a profound truth of the marriage union ordained by God.  Also for people who married wrongly and are divorced or separated, it is not easy to be alone, and it is not the will of God for us to live a lonely life but due to our impatience and other situations of life, we find ourselves in such situations but the Lord is faithful and a great help in the time of trouble. He is the only one that can mend a broken pitcher. He is the great Potter and He can mend all things if we trust Him with our situation. The word goes further to say that when one of them is being attacked, the two will come out and win, they are likened to a threefold cord that is not quickly broken, God being the third and strongest cord of the union. Our God is  Wonderful. In Genesis 24: 1 – 6, Abraham commands Isaac not to marry a Canaanite. His servant is sent to find a wife for Isaac. It was the Lord who guided Abraham’s servant in choosing Rebekah as a wife for Isaac and, at the end of the day, Rebekah was blessed to be the mother of thousands of millions. It is good and beneficial for us and God’s kingdom to emulate Abraham by encouraging our children to wait on God for their spouses and our youths to also emulate Isacc who took a godly counsel from his father to marry according to God’s will.

BIBLE READINGS:  Genesis. 24: 10 – 16

PRAYER: Oh God of Abraham and Isaac, do not allow your children seeking your face for a good partner to go wrong. Amen.
