WAKE UP FROM YOUR SLUMBER

WAKE UP FROM YOUR SLUMBER
THE SEED
“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” Romans 13:11 (KJV)

The second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is closer than ever, yet many Christians are spiritually asleep. While being active in church programs, some of us lack spiritual productivity and depth. As believers, we are called to be spiritually awake, fruitful, and productive in our walk with God. Spiritual Slumber is caused by Unbelief: Doubting God’s promises or His ability to intervene in one’s life. Neglect of God’s Word is another enemy’s tool, failing to create time to engage in daily Bible study and reflection doesn’t help anyone to grow spiritually, rather it exposes us to sin. Allowing sinful habits to cloud our relationship with God is dangerous. But we can become overcomers in all of these by being intentional in waking up to pray for the Holy Spirit’s Help: Only through the power of the Holy Spirit can we overcome spiritual weakness and rekindle our passion for God. We should engage with God’s Word. Daily Dedicate Time: to read, meditate on, and apply it to our lives as the foundation for our spiritual growth. Fellowshipping with other believers is a great tool to wake up from spiritual slumber. When we surround ourselves with a community of believers that encourages and strengthens our walk with God this will greatly help us to be back on our feet again. Now is the time to amend our ways and live in readiness for Christ’s return. The door of mercy is still open, but it will not remain so forever. Remember, our loving Savior will also be the Judge, and He will show no favouritism. Let us take heed, remain alert, and stop our slumber which opens the door to the enemy to sow weeds into our beautiful field and let’s run the race with diligence.

BIBLE READING: Matthew 13:24-28
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help me to stay spiritually awake and alert. May I never grow weary or slumber but remain prepared for Your return in Jesus’ name, Amen.
