WALKING IN OBEDIENCE

THE SEED

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV)

Obedience is an intentional walk. The first step is to demolish anything that opposes the knowledge of God—false ideas, worldly ideologies, and temptations that aim to sway us away from God’s instructions. Jesus set an example in the wilderness when He overcame Satan’s temptation using God’s Word. The second step is to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Evil thoughts should not be entertained but resisted immediately. Walking in obedience is a conscious daily decision. With the help of the Holy Spirit, believers can say “No” to disobedience and “Yes” to God.

BIBLE READINGS:  Matthew 4:1–10 (KJV)

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, give me the willpower through Your Spirit to destroy and subdue every thought of disobedience that comes my way. Amen.
