WE WERE CREATED FOR HIS PLEASURE

THE SEED

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: …. Revelation 4: 11 KJV

God created the world, the heavens and the earth, Gen 1:1, but before then, only Him existed, John 1:3. Gen 1 described that all creations were good. He placed Adam and Eve in the garden that He created. Their continual existence in the garden was part of His plan for them and His pleasure. But Satan cunningly deceived them against the commandment of God not to touch nor eat the fruit. However, they broke the rule and faced the consequences. Their innocence turned to grief, guilt and shame as they went into hiding, having been exposed to the knowledge of good and evil. Sadly, their obedience brought death to mankind. They forgot the warning of death in Gen 2:17 if they eat the fruit, they abandoned the tree of life and chose the tree of knowledge of good and evil- a broad choice leading to death. We were created not to be a source of entertainment, but for us to have the pleasure of knowing Him and for a relationship with Him. Therefore, our existence should bring Him joy, not sorrow. God wanted to redeem us and bring reconciliation because He is a long-suffering and merciful God. So, He had a plan B. Isa. 9: 6-7 to send a redeemer, who will die for our sins and reconcile us to Himself. Let us, therefore, accept plan B and make every effort to lead a life that will make God rejoice in us.
