YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ARISE AND SHINE
THE SEED
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” Isaiah 60:1 NIV
As followers of Christ, we are called to be a light in the world, reflecting God’s glory and spreading His truth. Isaiah 60:1 urges us, to arise and shine, because our light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon us. This is not just an invitation but a divine responsibility—to stand up, be a beacon of hope, and allow God’s light to shine through us.
Jesus reinforces this in Matthew 5:14-16 by letting us know we are the light of the world He instructs us to allow our light to shine before others. Our lives are meant to reflect God’s goodness and draw others to Him. However, rising and shining requires intentional action. It means stepping out of all our inadequacies, darkness, fear, doubt, and the self- satisfaction of our current positions and present achievements to embrace our purpose. In as much as we are still breathing, we have more room to continue to rise and shine. No limitations on age or achievement, we have the responsibility to shine until we are called home. There must be a great difference between our old life and the new life we now live by His grace, and the difference is to continue to live as children of light shining from glory to glory. Beloved, we are responsible for living out this new identity in Christ by our words, actions, and good example to the world. God has placed His light within us to make a difference in the world. Don’t hide it—arise, shine, and fulfil your divine calling.
