DON’T FRUSTRATE GOD’S GRACE
THE SEED
“I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” — Galatians 2:21
We are saved by grace through faith—not by works—so no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8–9). Yet Scripture warns that grace can be “set aside” when we return to self-reliance, legalism, or willful sin. When we attempt to earn what Christ has already purchased, we empty the cross of its power in our daily walk. We also frustrate grace when we neglect spiritual growth—abandoning prayer, the Word, fellowship, and obedience. Likewise, a hard, unforgiving, or judgmental spirit dishonors the grace we ourselves have received. The answer is not more striving but deeper surrender: walk humbly, depend on the Spirit, and “grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). Grace doesn’t excuse sin; it empowers holiness. It doesn’t applaud stagnation; it fuels maturity. As recipients of mercy, we must extend mercy—patient, loving, and forgiving—just as God has been to us. In doing so, we remain aligned with the grace that builds us up. In what area are you relying on yourself instead of resting in and obeying God’s grace?
