SIN ATTRACTS DEATH—FLEE!
THE SEED
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:23 KJV
Sin isn’t a harmless slip; it’s rebellion against God with deadly consequences. Scripture reveals a sobering progression: desire conceives sin, sin matures, and sin “brings forth death” (James 1:14–15). Death shows up physically (Romans 5:12), spiritually (separation from God), and eternally (for those who reject Christ). Sin seduces by minimizing its cost and maximizing its momentary pleasure. It takes more than it gives, stays longer than expected, and destroys deeper than imagined. But there is freedom in Christ: the same verse that warns of sin’s wages proclaims God’s gift—eternal life in Jesus. In Him, we are no longer slaves to sin but servants of righteousness. The path of freedom is practical: walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). Saturate your mind with truth, flee temptation, confess quickly, and stay in accountable fellowship. Sin is a thief—don’t reason with it; run from it.
Where do you need to replace compromise with Spirit-empowered obedience today?
