THE SEED
“Then Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.’” — Acts 3:6 (NKJV)Peter and John did not offer money to the lame man at the Beautiful Gate. Instead, they gave him something far greater the power of Jesus’ name. Many times, when we can’t meet people’s physical needs, we assume we have nothing to give. But the truth is, the most powerful gift we can offer anyone is Jesus Himself. Sharing Jesus may not always produce instant miracles, but it always releases His power and presence into a situation. A prayer, a word of encouragement, or a testimony of God’s faithfulness can turn someone’s hopeless moment into a doorway of faith. Even when we have material resources to give, they should be accompanied by the good news of Christ. The greatest treasure is not silver or gold, but the name above all names. Reflection: The most valuable gift we can offer anyone is Jesus.
