WALK CLOSELY WITH THE MASTER
THE SEED
“But Peter followed him at a distance, right up to the courtyard of the high priest. He entered and sat down with the guards to see the outcome.” — Matthew 26:58 (NIV)
Peter’s decision to follow Jesus from afar was costly, but distance from the Master exposed him to fear and compromise. Among unbelievers, he lost his boldness and denied the One he loved. It was not because he stopped believing, but because he stepped out of the place of spiritual safety. The same trick is used by the enemy today: he isolates believers through distraction, discouragement, or complacency. Once the closeness to Jesus fades, fear, doubt, and compromise grow stronger.
We must remain close to Christ in prayer, worship, and fellowship with other believers. A close walk with the Master keeps us from falling when trials come.
Reflection: Distance from Jesus makes the heart vulnerable.
BIBLE READING: Matthew 26:69–75
PRAYER: Lord, help me to walk closely with You in every situation and keep me from wrong decisions that could weaken my stand with You. Amen.
