ASK—DON’T INSTRUCT GOD
THE SEED
“Can anyone tell the Lord what to do? Who can teach Him or give Him advice? With whom does God consult to know and understand and to learn how things should be done?” — Isaiah 40:13–14 (GNT)
Prayer is not instructing God—it is trusting Him. Many believers pray prescriptive prayers, setting their own time, place, and method for God’s intervention. But the Potter does not take instructions from the clay. True prayer presents requests with humility and then steps aside for God’s will to be done. He sees the full picture and knows the perfect path for every situation. Prescribing to God often leads to frustration, but trusting Him leads to peace. Ask in faith, then leave the “how” and “when” to the One who knows best.
Reflection: Faith asks; pride instructs.
BIBLE READING: Jeremiah 18:1–6
PRAYER: Lord, teach me to ask with humility and trust Your wisdom in the how and when of every answer. Amen.
