THE TEST OF THE HEART

THE TEST OF THE HEART

THE SEED

“But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7 (KJV)

God’s tests are often invisible. While people see the surface, God weighs motives, intentions, and the secret places of the heart. Saul failed this kind of test without even knowing it. Many today appear righteous outwardly but harbor hidden motives within. We can deceive others, even ourselves, but never God. He is always evaluating the heart. That’s why self-examination is vital. A heart constantly judged before God is a heart more likely to pass divine testing.

Beloved, let your heart be pure and your motives right. When God searches, may He find sincerity, humility, and obedience.

Reflection: God tests the heart more than the deeds.

BIBLE READING: 1 Samuel 16:1–13

PRAYER: Lord, search my heart and cleanse my motives. Help me to live in truth before You. Amen.
