LIVE AND SUSTAINED BY THE WORD

LIVE AND SUSTAINED BY THE WORD

THE SEED

“And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” — Luke 4:4 (KJV)

When Jesus faced temptation, He overcame not by strength or reason, but by the Word of God. He was quoting Deuteronomy 8:3, reminding us that physical food alone cannot sustain a spiritual life. We live by the Word because it nourishes, strengthens, and anchors us in truth. As believers, we are not ordinary people—we are sustained by divine instruction. To live by the Word is to depend on God daily, above our preferences, feelings, and human wisdom. It means submitting to His revealed will and allowing Scripture to shape our choices. The Word of God is food for the spirit, strength for the soul, and light for the path. Let it be your daily bread.

Reflection: God’s Word is the true sustenance of the believer.
