THE SEED
“Better a poor but wise youth than an old but foolish king who no longer knows how to heed a warning.” Ecclesiastes 4:13 NIV
As children of God, God has made provisions of all kinds for us to be successful in our journey here on earth. One of them is good advisers. Most of the time, God will send us instructions on what to do and way to go through people around us. As Christians we must learn to warm up to accept good advice or positive criticism from people around us. It is proud to think that we know it all because of our educational background, age, position, or status in society. In my home, whenever any member of my family is dealing with a situation that needs help, it doesn’t matter if it’s dad, mum, or any of the children, after praying about it, we shall sit together to find solutions, we have records of when the solution came from the youngest of the family who was around eight years old then. We shouldn’t be full of ourselves to receive warnings from anybody. Remember that Naaman would have missed his healing if he didn’t listen to his servants that went with him to see Prophet Elisha. Even Moses would have become exhausted from judging the Israelites’ issues if he had refused to take his father-in-law’s advice to delegate the responsibility. When one grows out of taking advice and warning, then one is ready to meet with downfall.
PRAYER
Father, please help me to appreciate good advice and never be proud to take heed to warnings.
