THE SEED
“Jesus saith unto them, my meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and to finish His work.” John: 4:34.
Genesis 6:2 says, “that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were beautiful and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.” This shows us the failure of some ordained people called to fulfil a divine purpose on earth, who failed because they were cornered by the spirit of lust. Samson was a good example. His attention was diverted by lust such that he lost his purpose on earth. Revelation 4:11 reveals that God created us for His pleasure to do His will. We must never allow the cares of this world or lust in the world to divert us from living a life for which God created us. Christ in today's text is absolute and definite about His origin and purpose on earth. Like Christ we must be conscious of our identity, origin and mission. We must live with the consciousness of why we are sent into this world, the purpose for which we are sent and by who. Such consciousness will help us work in the reality of our purpose on earth. It is not enough to know our divine purpose on earth, we must strive to fulfil it even as Christ did. We must go about the purpose and knowing that even as God has sent you the devil as well has sent his agents to distract you. This is why you must partner with the Holy Spirit who releases the grace you need to do the will of God on earth and to finish it.
PRAYER
Oh Lord let me live according to Your purpose on earth.
