THE SEED
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that fully well.” Psalm 139:14
It’s common for people to think that they need more beauty. For example, some measure beauty by the standard the world has set today. If you don’t look like a celebrity fashionista, perhaps you are feeling less beautiful than others. You may feel that your life doesn’t meet the standard of a wonderful life. Some even end up sacrificing their peace in pursuit of more beauty. Perhaps you have a past regarding your life that you are regretting. Maybe your family and professional life have not turned out the way you had imagined. Or you may have habits and behaviour you are not glad of. And you may also feel you are not beautiful inside. But God has something distinctive to say. In Psalm 139, God guarantees us that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” God’s inventive power was at work not only because of the creation of the earth alone but more focus on the image in His likeness, which is you. God made you beautiful.
Psalm 139 guarantees us that the God who shaped us before we were born and He is still personally involved in our lives, the God who made you wonderful at the beginning and forever.
PRAYER
Omnipotent God, you know everything around me. Thank you for making me lovely. Indeed, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Amen.
