Watch Your Appetite

THE SEED
“But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed.” James 1:14

There is no man that falls into temptation outside of his appetite or habits. As a matter of fact, temptation comes out of what we do, and when lust has conceived it, it brings forth sin and sin when it is finished, brings forth death. King Solomon with all his wisdom, who the Bible recorded started well with God, began to miss it when he could not check his appetite for women. He went overboard and disobeyed God in the process. If we are to walk before God and be perfect, and not dwell in sin, one major aspect of our lives that we need to watch are the things we crave and lust or have appetite for, because only through our appetites can we be lured into sin. Jesus after fasting for forty days and forty nights was hungry, it was a good platform for the enemy to tempt him with food. Thank God he did not fall. However, many are not able to check their cravings thereby falling into sin when tempted. Tame your appetites and you will live a righteous life. We should learn to do everything in moderation. Water is good for the body, but if you swallow water excessively, you are bound to have trouble.
