MISSION STATEMENT: To carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our visually driven, ever-changing world using technology and media, and to equip other ministries of the church to use digital and electronic media as a worship and outreach tool.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
– Researches, writes, and edits information in print and electronic publications.
– To coordinate the publication of print contents being used by the church for its programs during or outside church services.
– To help design and print materials for use by other departments in the church e.g., flyers for Drama unit, children’s books for Children unit, tracts for outdoor evangelism, etc.
– To develop new materials for church use e.g., Youth magazines, Life Advancement books, etc.
– Coordinate any other special projects.
MEMBERSHIP
The membership of this department is open to all members (young and old) of the church. Everybody is endowed with diverse forms of talents which can be used in this department. The department is particularly interested in members who are talented in writing (e.g., articles, poetry, stories, comedy, etc.), drawing, speech, audio-visual technology, and other areas that can be of use to the department.
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS
– Communications experience with a not-for-profit, church or organization.
– Patience and perseverance.
– Website development tools and other related software.
– Advanced computer skills including desktop publishing software (Adobe InDesign or Microsoft Publisher).
– Experience in print media and electronic media design, development, and management.
GOALS OF CHRISTIAN EDICATION MINISTRY
– The goal of the department is to win souls into the kingdom of God using print media and social media. In the past, the gospel was spread by Christians traveling throughout the world preaching to unbelievers. Technological advancements in print and social media have provided the kingdom of God more avenues to reach the world for Christ. The desire of the department is to produce contents on behalf of the church for use as evangelism tools and resources.
