Divine Chastening

THE SEED
“My son, despise not the Chastening of the LORD; Neither be weary of his correction”. Proverbs 3:11 KJV.

Divine chastening is an expression of love that helps to yield in the believer the fruits of perfection, righteousness, holiness, the fear of God and peace with God in our daily relationship with Him. Divine chastening also produces in the recipient Godly sorrow, genuine repentance, spiritual revival, restoration and renewal. This helps the Lord’s chosen who has started well to remain in God’s plan, continue well and finish well. Proverbs 12:1 tells us that whoever loves correction, loves knowledge but whoever hates discipline is stupid. As a child of God when experiencing divine chastening examine yourself, repent genuinely, endure chastening and submit to the absolute will of God. The chastening of the lord is not punitive but corrective. His reprimand is never forever. Remember, being the loving and merciful God does not make any less consuming fire. Therefore, While ascending the ladder in your relationship with God ensures you are not taking any sinful habit with you ; If you do, you could get burnt.
