By His Stripes

THE SEED
Who Himself (Jesus) bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24

The apostle Peter reminds us of what the prophet Isaiah prophesied about Jesus, approximately 700 years before the Cross but was fulfilled in Peter’s time. How big and awesome God’s love must be for us, to send His Son to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus suffered for all our sicknesses, infirmities, pains and sorrows, removing their cause for all of us. That means that we can build our faith for receiving healing and to be made whole, in Jesus’ Name. We died to sin, with Jesus, by faith in Him and in what He did for us. Because we were bought with Jesus’ blood, we do not belong to ourselves anymore but to the One who paid with His life for our sins. We are to remember that we have died to sin so that we might live for righteousness. Because we died with Jesus, we were also healed in the stripes from His body on the Cross. Actually these were the only recorded stripes, hurts and sickness that Jesus ever endured. He lived with a perfect healthy body while on earth until being arrested, tortured and crucified. In heaven Jesus has the perfect glorified body. Jesus already did all He had to do for our healing, so now it belongs to us, through Christ. The deeper we understand this truth, the easier we may block any doubt and may receive our healing. We believe what God’s Word says when we act upon it. Jesus did all it would ever take for the healing of all mankind once and for all, while He suffered on the cross. Now it is up to us to truly believe in our healing and enter into possession of it. We need to act upon what we believe not upon how we feel. We must start doing what we could not do, as an act of faith. If you need to fight for your healing and want to know more about it, you may read “Healing by faith” and the other articles in the “Healing: Body, Mind & Soul” section.

BIBLE READING: ISAIAH 53

PRAYER: Thank You Father God that because Your Word says that we were healed, it means that I was healed already. And if I was healed already, it means that I am truly already healed now. Thank You Lord that my healing is part of the “all spiritual blessings” that I have already been blessed with in Jesus Christ! Glory and honor to Your holy Name. Amen.
