Dilligence

THE SEED
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” Proverbs 22:29 (KJV)

Grace is not an excuse for laziness. You can receive an opportunity by grace, but it is diligence that sustains it. The gift or talent that you have will never yield any meaningful fruit until you apply diligence to it. Diligence is an intentional character of working persistently towards a goal while relying on God for a full accomplishment. Diligence works at every level of responsibility. David was a shepherd who was diligent in his dealings. In fact, when Samuel came to anoint him, he was busy doing his business in the field. God had seen that his heart was right (1 Samuel 16:7), so God made him ruler over Israel. If you cannot show diligence in little things, God cannot trust you with bigger things. You may have some goals that you want to achieve this year, or some opportunities that you want to maximize. Add diligence to your toolkit. Pray in diligence. Study the Word in diligence. Obey in diligence. Work in diligence. By doing this, you are inviting the hand of God to prosper your ways.

BIBLE READING: 1 Samuel 16: 1-13

PRAYER: Please God, help me to apply diligence to every aspect of my life; so that I may fulfill purpose and live a life of prosperity. In Jesus’ name. Amen
