LOVING OUR NEIGHBORS AS OURSELVES

LOVING OUR NEIGHBORS AS OURSELVES

THE SEED
“If a man says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” — 1 John 4:20

The Bible defines our “neighbour” as anyone around us—family, friends, colleagues, or even strangers, regardless of their background or beliefs. Loving our neighbor means showing kindness, compassion, and concern for others, even when it is inconvenient or difficult. True love goes beyond words; it requires action. Loving our neighbour means forgiving those who hurt us, seeking peace instead of conflict, and extending kindness even to those who do not deserve it. Jesus taught that loving others is second only to loving God (Matthew 22:39). It is easy to love those who are kind to us, but God calls us to love even our enemies. A simple act of kindness can change someone’s life and reflect God’s love to the world. As His children, we are called to be vessels of His love, showing grace and compassion to all.

BIBLE READING: Romans 13:8-10
PRAYER: Lord, help me to love my neighbours selflessly and reflect Your love in all I do n Jesus’ name, Amen.
