Modelling Jesus In Difficult Situations

THE SEED

“But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge,” Acts 4:19 ESV

To model Jesus in our difficult situation simply means to stand for Christ in righteousness, doing the will of God that will project us as children of the living God. No one says difficult situations are easy, they come with temptations to boycott the way of God and choose the easy way of denying Christ. Our difficult situation might be marriage, childbearing, raising a difficult child, job search, sickness and many more. The good news is that God has solutions to all these, but He requires our patience and steadfastness to trust Him and confess His supremacy in them all. The Apostles of Jesus Christ experienced numerous difficult situations, but they never denied their faith. When Apostles Peter and John were arrested and instructed not to preach Jesus, they answered the council that they would do God’s will.

The women disciples did not fear the government when they visited the Lord’s tomb. Queen Easter, being aware of the King’s negative ruling against anyone that came to his presence without his permission, held up her faith in God to go in and was met with favour. We should strive to make God proud of us by standing for God in our difficult situations, nothing should make us flinch to deny Christ or to make us behave like unbelievers.

PRAYER

Lord, please give me the boldness to always stand up for you in my difficult situations. Amen
