No Basis For Comparison

THE SEED
“For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves, but they measuring themselves by themselves among themselves are not wise” 2 Corinthians 10:12

Comparing ourselves with others is not what we should be doing because there is more to life than meets the eye. Also commending ourselves for one feat achieved is not what we should be doing as well, for the Lord said, there is nothing we can do or achieve without him. Instead, all glory should be given to God.When we begin to compare ourselves with others, the Bible says we are not wise. For example, in the scripture above, Jacob was loved by God and Esau the Lord hated his generation forever. Whilst, Jacob with all his faults and even before they were born, before they started committing sin, Jacob was loved and Esau was hated. Therefore, Esau comparing himself with Jacob will be a wasted effort. This means, everyone with his destiny. Some will go ahead of you in life while some will come behind you. Patience is what you need, your day of joy shall surely come. Stop comparing yourself with others, it will lead to envy, hatred, covetousness and other unpleasant actions. Just serve God with a perfect heart, be diligent in all your ways and wait patiently for your time. The thought of God towards Jacob, may not be known to Esau, there is more to life than meets the eye.
