THE BEAUTY OF WORSHIP

THE BEAUTY OF WORSHIP
THE SEED
“Then Jesus said to him, ‘Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” Matthew 4:10 (NKJV)

Worship is an act of honour, adoration, and wholehearted surrender to God. It allows us to encounter His presence and experience His joy, peace, and comfort. Worship is a celebration of God’s goodness, mercy, and grace, as well as a response to His redemption and acknowledgement of His greatness. Jesus taught us that worship must be done in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). True worship deepens our relationship with God, aligning our hearts with His will. It is not confined to an event but is a lifestyle that involves our entire being— heart, mind, soul, and strength. However, certain sins, such as pride, anger, and envy, can hinder our ability to worship God fully. To worship Him effectively, we must approach Him with humility and a pure heart. One remarkable biblical example of the power of worship is found in the story of King Jehoshaphat. Faced with an overwhelming army, Jehoshaphat called the people of Judah to fast, pray, sing, and worship God. Instead of fighting, they worshipped the Lord, and He intervened on their behalf. The invading armies turned against each other, and Judah won the battle without lifting a sword (2 Chronicles 20:13-22). This story demonstrates that worship has the power to transform situations and bring about divine victories.

BIBLE READING: 2 Chronicles 20:13-22 PRAYER: Oh Lord, stir within me a passion for worship, that I may delight in Your presence, rejoice in Your glory, and experience the fullness of Your grace. Amen.
