THE END OF ALL LIARS
THE SEED
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 (KJV)
Lying may seem harmless to many, but the Bible places it in the same category as grievous sins. The story of the two donkeys illustrates this well. One carried salt, the other sponges. When they crossed a river, the salt melted, lightening the load, but the sponge absorbed water, causing the donkey to drown. What we carry inside determines our destiny. A heart full of lies sinks, but truth leads to life. Ananias and Sapphira lied to the Holy Spirit and paid dearly for it. Whether it’s falsifying documents, hiding the truth, or twisting facts, every lie separates us from God’s holiness. God desires truth in the inward parts, not deception. Let us be people who speak the truth, no matter the cost. Truth may be costly, but lies cost eternity.
Reflection: Truth sets you free, but lies destroy the soul.
BIBLE READING: Acts 5:1–11
PRAYER: Lord, cleanse my heart and tongue from lies. Fill me with a spirit of truth. Amen.
