THE SACRIFICE

THE SACRIFICE

THE SEED

“Greater love has no one than this than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13.

In the beginning, when man fell in the Garden of Eden, he went against the commandment of God by doing exactly the opposite of what God asked him to do. He ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It was from then on that man died. He died spiritually. He was separated from God and was driven out of the garden. God made a plan to reconcile man back to Himself, but not without a sacrifice. He has to make the ultimate sacrifice with His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him, will not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus Christ was not forced to lay down His life for mankind but He did it willingly. “No one takes it from me but I lay it down of Myself. I have the power to lay it down, and I have the power to take it again” John 10:18. No other sacrifice is acceptable. God has paid the precious price for all humanity. God has given us the best gift that we do not deserve. You should accept this gift of salvation. Appreciate God for all He has done. You should emulate our Saviour to live a selfless life, wanting to be of help to the needy and sacrifice for the benefit of others.

BIBLE READING: John 3:13-17

PRAYER: Lord, may I not take for granted the sacrifice you made for me to be saved in Jesus’ name. Amen.
