THIS IS NOT A REHEARSAL
THE SEED
“For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” 2 Corinthians 6: 2 (KJV)
Apostle Paul was quoting from Isaiah 49: 8 – 12, where the Prophet Isaiah was prophesying the day of Salvation for Israel and also for the whole world. And here Paul is telling us that the day has come. That day is today. When I read this story, I was reminded of the fire alarm drills that are held periodically in large and public buildings here in the UK. When you hear the alarm, you are supposed to drop whatever you are doing and head out of the building in a quick and orderly manner, using the nearest fire exit, to a designated assembly point outside the building. It is a drill or rehearsal exercise ahead of a real emergency. And it is against the law to disobey this procedure. However, when there is a real fire, the alarm system also repeats ‘This is not a drill’. Letting everybody know, this is a true emergency. Sometimes, we Christians can treat our lives like we are rehearsing for the real thing. We put off our deliverance, our transformation, our change, and even God’s promises to some unknown indeterminate future. As if we are endlessly getting ready for our breakthrough. But, here Paul is telling us, today is the day of salvation. Today is the day for your change. Your breakthrough can begin today. Your deliverance can begin today. You must start seizing hold of God’s promises for your life today. Stop waiting. Stop rehearsing. This is the real thing, and our change can start now. Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I thank you that my deliverance and my change can start the day I am ready for it. I am ready for it now. Today is my day in Jesus name, Amen.
