WAITING ON GOD

THE SEED

“Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth Psalm 46:10(NKJV)

Waiting is an action of staying where one is or delaying an action until a particular time or instruction comes. While we wait, the devil will want to come and deceive us by trying to divert our hearts from God. But we have to put our whole trust and faith in God, praying daily, reassuring ourselves of his promises to us by reading the word of God. Waiting on God can be very challenging and difficult, it can even make us doubt God or lose hope in God especially when it seems we are stagnant and not progressing. As children of God, we should trust God and remember that God is not man, that he would lie, whatsoever he has promised us is what we would receive from Him. God made a promise to Abraham and Sarah that they would bear a son even though they were old and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. This promise was fulfilled even though Sarah had doubts at some point, Abraham had faith and he was 100 years old when they bore Isaac, they waited for 25 years. What God has promised us might seem impossible, but we should remember the word of God to us in Luke 1:37. “For with God nothing will be impossible”. When everything or the situation we are going through seems difficult and impossible, God is there, He is sorting our situations and making a way for us. Waiting strengthens our faith and helps us to be closer to God. God might want us to wait for certain reasons, it might be that what we are asking from Him might harm us at that moment that we are asking, so we will wait.

BIBLE READING: Genesis 18:6-15

PRAYER: Lord, help me to trust you and to wait patiently on you, strengthen me to resist the devil’s temptation to doubt your promises for me in Jesus name Amen.
