WALKING IN SPIRIT
THE SEED
But I say, walk by the spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh, for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. Galatians 5: 16-17
Walking in the Spirit means to live a life inside the Holy Spirit through a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Additionally, it means doing things that please God and living a virtuous life. There are lots of people in the bible, who walked in spirit, like Joseph, Deborah, Stephen, Moses, Abraham, Paul, Jacob, Noah, Esther, Dorcas, etc., but let us use Joseph as an example for this text. If Joseph didn’t have the spirit of God in him, the moment he was sold to the Egyptians by his brothers, his life would have been miserable, but after he was sold to slavery, he fortunately became the ruler, and second to King Pharaoh, it happened because he walked in the spirit. Joseph experienced a lot of hardship right from birth until he was old, yet he didn’t stop walking in spirit. He was trustworthy, humble, ready to help others, had good character, a pleasant attitude, and had good faith in God. However, there are lots of good things that will happen to us, when we walk in the spirit; the spirit comforts you, leads you, and guides you towards a good life and eternity. We enjoy the grace of God through Jesus Christ today in various churches because some faithful church leaders submitted themselves to Christ as vessels to be used. They walked in the Spirit, yielded, and submitted to His call, while faithfully doing the work committed unto their hands.
