Watch What You Say

THE SEED
A good man, out of the good treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Luke 6:45 KJV.

Taming your tongue means putting a guard over your mouth and ensuring that what comes out is in line with God’s word and His own heart and the good fruits of the Holy spirit. It is about pausing and reflecting before speaking rash words and asking for God’s help when we struggle in this area. “And the tongue is a fire, a word of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members that it defileth the whole body” James 3:6. When we speak It is important to choose the words that will lift up and bring joy, life and hope. Taming your tongue means not giving in to idle words, expressions of anger or fits of rage. Your words have the great power to speak good things and positive things and bless others or they can hurt and cause pain to others and that is why taming the tongue and watching all that comes out of your mouth is so important.
