THE SEED
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” Romans 8:35 KJV
Whenever we make mistakes, condemnation is one of the tools the devil engages in to try to separate us from God. Whilst we embark on a life journey, we are bound to make mistakes because we are not perfect. Not being conscious of the fact that we are working towards perfection and embracing the love of God to move on after falling into sin, the devil whispers to our hearts that we have failed God or God hates us which most times results in condemnation. God’s love for us is not based on our perfection. It is not based on our mistakes nor is it based on our perfect works. He chooses to freely love us even when we were yet to understand what his love towards us means. Jesus said he didn’t come to die for the righteous but for the unrighteous. His love for us cannot automatically turn into hatred because of our mistakes. We need to walk in the consciousness of this every day of our lives irrespective of whatsoever things we do, the love of God will always be there for us to welcome us back home just like the prodigal son was welcomed back into the bosom of his father. Does this mean we should deliberately keep falling into sin because we know God will love us irrespective? No, and this is because no man born of God would keep falling into sin. After all, the seed of God is in him (1 John 3:9). However, if we find ourselves falling into sin, we should go to God to obtain mercy with the boldness of heart not permitting condemnation because we are certain that nothing can separate us from his love and that he is ever ready to set our path straight one more time.
