YOUR SACRIFICE MATTERS TO GOD

YOUR SACRIFICE MATTERS TO GOD

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Hebrews 13:16 NIV

Every act of sacrifice towards God or people, whether small or great, is precious in the eyes of God. To do good sometimes comes with sacrifice so when we give out of love and obedience to God, He sees our hearts and honors our faithfulness. Simple acts of kindness and generosity are sacrifices that matter to God and bring Him delight. Jesus highlighted the value of heartfelt sacrifice when He spoke about the widow’s offering in Mark 12. Her humble sacrifice was more significant to God than the larger gifts of the wealthy because it came from a heart of trust and devotion. She gave all she had as an offering. Every moment we offer to God in service and obedience is a meaningful sacrifice that He values. We are called to a life of sacrifice in Christ. A life of sacrifice embraces selflessness, putting others first, elevating spiritual things over flesh desires and inconveniencing oneself to make others comfortable. For our sacrifice to count before the Lord, it must become a way of life for us and not what we do at convenient times.

BIBLE READING: Mark 12:41-44

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for seeing and valuing every sacrifice I make for You. Help me to offer my life as a living sacrifice, pleasing in Your sight. Amen.
