THE SEED
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” Psalms 34:19
The introductory verse should motivate followers of Christ Jesus to persevere in the face of hardships or calamities. The Holy Spirit wants us to concentrate on Jesus Christ, the Deliverer, because it is written in the Bible with assurance that He will rescue us from all of our troubles and tribulations. He offers us greater grace to conquer our challenges when we concentrate on the Deliverer. However, when we concentrate on the problems or difficulties, we start to question, fear, and worry, which undermines our trust and our capacity to accept help from above. As a result, we grumble, murmur, and feel sorry for ourselves, which makes the problems worse and causes us to lose faith. They may even cause us to lose our joy in Christ, which is what gives us strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Only those who genuinely fear and trust the Lord are delivered. God is undoubtedly concerned for your bodily safety, but he is even more so for your spiritual safety, specifically the deliverance of your soul from Hell and punishment for all eternity.
PRAYER
Oh Lord, deliver me with Your mighty hand of righteousness.
