THE SEED
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein. Joshua 1:8
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever. To live by the Word of God is to live the life of Christ because Christ is the living Word. God wants us to translate His words into our daily practical lives so that we can fulfill His purpose. There are ideas and philosophies of this world asserting influence on us. There are ways of viewing life that is contrary to God’s will and many believers are influenced by those philosophies. It’s not enough to just abstract. We must engage the word in our lives regularly. We must read the word so that we know what it says. We must study its contents so we can receive the correct interpretation. We must ponder it and apply it to our daily decisions. We allow the word to shape our world view, determine how we think about things and value things. And ultimately direct how we live our lives. The opening Scripture is the word of God to Joshua, he followed it and was successful as God intended. Indeed, a believer is filled with the Spirit in direct proportion to how much he is controlled by the Word of God.
PRAYER
Lord let your word be a light unto my path and a lamp unto my feet to live a victorious life in you in Jesus’ name. Amen
