JEALOUSY
THE SEED
“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” James. 3: 16 KJV
Jealousy is something that many people experience. jealousy can occur during any part of one’s spiritual journey. When you do things with pure intentions, order and positivity will overflow from your life. Jealousy is the rage of a man. Jealousy may sneak up on you, but with God it can be eliminated. The Bible says wrath is cruel and anger is outrageous, but who is able to stand before envy? Jealousy can be so destructive, both spiritually, emotionally and relationally. it can literally feed one to murder. Jealousy is that sneaky sin that comes upon us unexpectedly. When you are jealous, you will be eager to obtain something that you don’t have, and it will lead to covetousness and idolatry. Jealousy is a sinful act, it comes from the flesh and it needs to be confessed and repented. If you are not content with what you have you will definitely become jealous of others in possession of your wishlist. Our God is a jealous God who does not want us to have any other god except him. He wants us to repent from our sinful ways and give glory to him alone. Out of jealousy, Saul wanted to kill David because he defeated Goliath and brought the Israelites to victory. Don’t allow jealousy to consume you and also determine your identity and happiness. The root cause of jealousy and envy are connected to a person’s inability to see what God has provided in their life and a lack of thankfulness.
Therefore, stop being jealous,It is a bad spirit that can lead you to hell.
BIBLE READING: Galatians 5: 16 – 26
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, my sincere desire is to become holy like you, set me free from anxious thoughts that cause me not to become jealous towards others in Jesus name. Amen.
