A Divine Demonstration Of Love

THE SEED
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1

Consider the opposite of divine love—false “love,” which places restrictions and always withholds something—to have a greater understanding of it. This “love” merely offers in order to manipulate and clings to power. It is unwilling to be open to vulnerability and emotionally cold. On the other hand, true love accepts individuals for who they are. It entails knowing the other person for who they truly are and expressing unrestricted love. If you have to be in charge and your heart isn’t really in it, true love is something you’re missing. I see the purest example of love ever when I consider Jesus Christ’s love on the cross. The Saviour offered His life for us while holding nothing back, demonstrating the depth of His unrestricted love (Romans 8:32). Instead of using our free will to manipulate us with His love, He gave it to us. He also showed vulnerability in His love for us even though He knew it would be rejected—perhaps disregarded or derided. Jesus was prepared to be rejected because He was willing to love unconditionally. Turn to the cross whenever you’re unclear of what real love entails. Jesus gave everything He had in order to love us and make us children of God (1 John 3:1).

PRAYER
Oh Lord, give me the grace to know your worth in my life, give me the grace to know the worth of your love on me, Amen.
