A Life Of Value

THE SEED
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life. Matthew 6:25

A life that is rich in God’s eyes and extends his kingly authority to our planet is one that is valuable. The kingdom of heaven is where value is found, not in the prosperity or treasure obtained on earth. We all intend to live life to the fullest, but the world is rife with distractions and empty promises, and occasionally we find ourselves occupied with pursuits that don’t enrich our existence. Success encourages overworking or unethical short cuts. People follow the expectations of others when they are given approval. People present a polished exterior due to their social status. People are sent on expensive holidays because of cultural ideals. Jesus cautions us, though, that acquiring priceless items and life-changing events won’t give our lives enduring value. Jesus compares accumulating wealth, goods, status, and security to filling a treasure chest. In that image, a life’s worth is determined by the total value of the treasure chest. We must choose one Master as our Master, and cease serving other masters if we want our lives to have value. Explain your understanding of the heavenly kingdom and your role within it. Invest wholly and deeply in the heavenly kingdom. Your life will have eternal significance if you do that.

PRAYER
O Lord, let me not live a vain life leading to losing your kingdom, let my investments be heaven-bound. Amen.
