And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “and Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. James 2:23
God is impartial when He makes decisions and orders, Scripture continually attests to His impartiality (Deuteronomy 10:17; Romans 2:11; Colossians 3:25). But occasionally, it doesn’t appear that way. Take Israel as an example; God said He chose them to be His people (Deuteronomy 7:6). Does this mean God has changed His ways? No! Israel was specifically chosen by God for a function inside His eternal plan. Take a look at Israel’s past. Think on her woes and failures. There is no indication that God is favouring Israel in any way. Instead, just as He has a specific will and plan for every one of us, He has a special plan for this selected nation. According to 1 Peter 1:17, “If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth.” Keep in mind that “to everyone who have received much, much must be required” (Luke 12:48). God’s judgement is fair and just, and He is fully aware of what each individual should get. Be encouraged by the knowledge that God loves every one of His creation fairly. He has gone to the greatest extents to demonstrate that He doesn’t want anyone to perish (2 Peter 3:9).
