Fear Not (II)

THE SEED
“But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” Matthew 14:27

When the disciples saw Jesus walking on water and thought he was a ghost, Jesus told them not to fear. Peter then asked Jesus if he could also come, and Jesus told him ‘Come’. So, Peter started walking on water towards Jesus. Then when he turned his eyes unto the raging wind, he became afraid; and immediately, he started to sink until Jesus reached out to save him. The lesson here is that if you focus on the circumstances around you more than you focus on Jesus, you will sink. Satan knows how to distract believers with the raging noise of storm. His plan is that once you focus on the noise of the storm you will become afraid, your eyes will then be drawn away from Jesus and your heart will forget his words. No matter what the situation looks like, keep your eyes on Jesus the Author and Finisher of your faith. Always remember His promises. Do not fall into the demonic trap of fear.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, help me to fix my gaze on you no matter what the situation might be. Grant me the courage to know that you are always with me. Amen.
